Construction Site Fire Safety

Construction Fire Safety

It is important that all contractors ensure that an initial Fire Risk assessment is completed before the project starts and at regular intervals during the project as the project moves forward.

The fire strategy plan within the Construction Phase Plane is reviewed in line with the Fire Risk assessment.

Fire Safety in Construction (HSG 168) and Fire Prevention on Construction Sites (The Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire of Construction Sites and Buildings Undergoing Renovation) are two of the principal guides on construction site fire safety in the UK.

The guidance covers.

1 Fire risk assessment

2 Detailed guidance on fire risk assessment and fire precautions

3 Legal and enforcement responsibilities
